This goes a long way for various reasons.
If you’re a developer, I think you’ll intuitively look at the URL to understand where you are.
If you are a mere mortal, you want to perhaps know when this article was written, instead of searching the publishing date somewhere in the article.
Do people sometimes omit such information for pure aesthetics, SEO, or other reasons?
I understand that it looks fancy to have a short url, but I’m personally for putting as much information in the URL as possible.
